The Rambo Protector FieldSafe Fly Sheet is packed with features chosen so your horse can enjoy time outside in peace, and you can enjoy your day without worrying about your horse.

In an ergonomic shape, the sheet's lightweight Disc Front Closure allows comfortable grazing and unrestricted movement. Reflective strips improve visibility for safer turnout in low light conditions, while three straight safety surcingles utilize a unique Velcro and plastic loop closure that releases should anything get dangerously caught in the straps.

Made of a highly breathable and durable self-repairing mesh fabric with 65% UV protection, this sheet is a great choice for sensitive or boisterous horses. Extended chest and leg coverage plus extra wide belly band and oversized tail flap offer maximum fly protection.

Finished with silky-smooth lining on the tail, neck, and shoulder for your horse's comfort. Hood compatible for even more fly and insect protection.

  • Tear Resistant Fabric: Horseware's unique, patented self-repairing fabric is durable, breathable and made to last.
  • Standard Neck: This blanket has a standard neck line and does NOT include a neck cover.
  • Disc Front Closure: Horseware's Disc Front is an easy, quick fasten that is less likely to catch due to the flat, smooth shape. It's lightweight (40g - 1/4 the weight of traditional metal closures), super strong (made of Nylon 6), and ergonomic (shaping to chest contours). Designed to fit many different shaped horses, it is particularly well suited for narrow chested horses.
  • Straight Surcingles: Three adjustable surcingles for a secure fit that prevents slipping and maximum belly coverage. Surcingles placed at specific angles & heights for optimum fit.
  • Rambo Safety Surcingles: Rambo Plastic Loops can withstand 100kg of pressure but release in the event of an emergency, giving extra protection for your horse and preventing serious injuries & damage to the blanket. Easily & quickly replace the broken loop.
  • Dual Leg Arches: Horseware's unique design allows for freedom of movement with a curve in the lower hem of the blanket without the addition of extra fabric or a concentrated pressure point. The blanket stays secure under belly & offers additional coverage. Includes both front & rear leg arch.
  • Reflective Strips: Includes reflective strips to increase visibility in the dark.
  • Extra Long Tail Flap: An extra long tail flap with silky lining gives your horse maximum coverage and UV protection.
  • Tail Strap/Tail String: Webbing tail straps are adjustable to offer enhanced fit.

USE

This is a FLY SHEET, intended to protect your horse from flies/insects on warm days while offering UV protection and breathability.

Turnouts, blankets & sheets serve a variety of functions. Turnouts act as a waterproof insulator layer, helping to maintain condition in cold weather. Stable blankets are not waterproof and simply provide insulation for warmth. Other sheets (fly, cooler, competition, scrim, etc.) excel at a number of other functions.

Please be aware that conditions may vary in a short time span, and always ensure your horse is comfortable under the current conditions.

CARE

We recommend having all products PROFESSIONALLY CLEANED.

If washing product yourself, please follow these recommendations.

Washing Instructions

  • Remove excess dirt, mud and hair.
  • Ensure all velcro is closed and clips/straps are attached prior to washing.
  • Machine wash at 30º C/85º F (cold) on a gentle or delicate cycle using mild soap or a blanket cleaning wash.
  • Line dry / air dry only away from a heat source.
  • Do NOT use detergents or fabric conditioners.
  • Do NOT bleach.
  • Do NOT tumble dry.
  • Do NOT Iron.

Storage Instructions

  • Once dry, fold neatly into a breathable storage bag.
  • Store in a cool, dry place away from any moisture or damp areas, avoiding excessive heat and UV exposure.
  • Your original packaging can be used as an excellent bag for multiple purposes, such as an equestrian gear bag or off-season storage.

Size & Fit

Size

Using a soft measuring tape, measure from A (the center point of the chest), across the widest point of the shoulder and to B (the center point of your horse’s rear, under the tail). Ensure your measuring tape is level and taut, which is easiest with two people. This measurement (in inches) is your horse’s "True Size."

Fit Recommendation

Our Advice: This product fits TRUE TO SIZE. You should rely on your horse's "True Size" (measured above). If between sizes we recommend sizing up.

Some products run large and others small, which is why we offer our own fit recommendation. Bear in mind that every horse is different and that your measurement is a guide only. We carry many different styles to suit all shapes and sizes.

When trying on a product for fit, we encourage you to first put a clean sheet on your animal and then try the new item over the clean sheet. 2022 version not as good as the 2021 version

I bought 2 of the 2021 oatmeal colored Rambo Protector fly sheets for my geldings last year and have been happy with them. I bought 2 of the 2022 silver colored ones for my mares this year, and have been disappointed with the quality. The hardware seems cheap and flimsy compared to the original ones, and the attachments for the tail strap are not reinforced as they used to be, so the binding pulls off the edge of the sheet in the back within the early days of use.

Rambo Protector Fly Sheet

Nice fit for my draft cross. The centered clip in the front gives him more room in the chest when his head is down to graze versus other blankets that clip across the front. I was a little worried that it didn't have any gussets but the fit between his elbow and should is fine. A little snug between his shoulder and withers when his head is down but that's my hardest part to fit on him. Oh and EXCELLENT customer service. Highly recommend this site for that alone!
